Academic research and knowledge repatriation at the intersection of epistemic and environmental justice in the Caribbean

چکیده
Researchers from institutions of higher education who conduct studies in the Caribbean often rely on local knowledge and support to produce scientific publications that could inform resource management. However, such research remains largely inaccessible communities because proprietary nature current ecosystem academia. This commentary proposes repatriation as a means advancing decolonial efforts within education. First, we highlight intersecting features epistemic environmental (in)justice with examples context discuss how can counter extant epistemological exploitative practices. Second, identify academic are specially positioned challenge traditional practices advance repatriation. Third, explore one example unfold some related challenges.
